Disposable film will never die!

Personally, I would love to have grown up in the age of strictly film photography. That feels a bit crazy to say given how much I love my digital equipment, and how many times it has saved me as a photographer. The thing about film photography is there is no room for mistakes. You have to know what every single button or dial does on that camera. Even knowing how to properly load the film, being able to find the right compositions and angles and finally, getting one shot. That’s the thing I love about film photography the most. It forces you to fully live in the moment. You don’t get an unlimited number of chances to take the same picture and check your progress as you go. Just the photographer, and that roll of film.

The major downside to film compared to digital, is the cost. Where a really good digital setup may cost you a few thousand dollars, you don’t have to constantly pay to buy new film and have it developed. And if you are active every single day taking photos, that can really add up. Not to mention it’s hard to find really good quality film in abundance or quantity for less than $100… So, is it really worth it? Some people think so, and if I could fully afford it, I think I would’ve made the switch already.

But, with all that being said, there are still other options! My personal favorite way to combat super steep prices on film and processing, is disposable cameras. From brands like Fujifilm and Kodak offer great disposable cameras for under twenty dollars! For the price of one normal roll of film, you could buy two rolls of disposables and get them developed, with money left over! The quality in your photos will definitely be different, and it might take some trial and error to get what you’re looking for. But that’s what photography is right? Trial and error. Constantly trying to find the best possible image and something you can be proud of taking.

Here’s some shots of my all time favorite disposable film shots!
